The Annual Return is the report that goes to Companies House once a year that summarises the current directors, secretaries, shareholders and the issued shares of a Company at a given date in the year. This date is normally the anniversary of the incorporation date.
Every company (including dormant and non-trading) is required to complete and submit an Annual Return to Companies House. This ensures that the details held at Companies House are complete and up to date.
The Annual Return has to be filed within a fixed time limit and, of course, Set up a Company can manage this deadline for you to ensure that the risk of late filing penalties are minimised.
